Floridita Anniversary Week

Tuesday 20th October - Concerto Cuba

In celebration of our 5th Anniversary, Floridita London takes great pleasure in unveiling ‘Concerto Cuba’. This dedicated musical evening pays homage to our resident band with a feature length performance. Relax at your table whilst you enjoy our contemporary Latin American food and a 90 minute musical journey…

On Tuesday 20th October we have the great honour of welcoming “Los Guayaberos” to the Floridita Stage...

This legendary group are born from the heart of traditional Cuban music. Once led by the great Don Faustino Oramas, a famously enigmatic singer songwriter, are now one of the strongest traditional bands playing in Cuba.

Their repertoire is made up of the hundreds of songs written by their old band leader Faustino including songs like ‘Hay Candela’ (made famous by the Buena Vista Social Club), and ‘Marionetta’ which have become Cuban classics in their own rite. Newer songs written by the bands current musicians are interweaved into their set.

Now led by Santana Orama Osorio (78), who was related to Faustino along with Carmito Batista (76), the bands bongo player, they play to enraptured audiences across the globe .

This is an unmissable opportunity to witness the very heart of Cuban musical tradition.

A 3 course Concerto Menu is available for just £27.50, this includes our legendary Mojito.

Throughout the week our contemporary spin on Latin American cooking is honoured with a specially designed 5-course menu for just £55 featuring our most popular dishes from the past 5 years.

Our 5th Birthday cocktail menu is inspired by the bartenders and patrons of “El Floridita” in Cuba, with cocktails to celebrate well known customers’ favourite tipples. The list includes an Ava Gardner Cosmopolitan, a Greta Garbo Marguerita and a Hemingway Special – a true commemoration of original classic cocktails of the 1930's.

Our guest band, the legendary Los Guayaberos, are one of the oldest groups still playing in Cuba and provide the musical backdrop to the week. Their performance in London is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the Cuban musical heritage cherished by these incredibly talented musicians. Playing live sets on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8pm.

The week promises to exude the heat and atmosphere of Latin America as we celebrate the contemporary Cuban movement in London and Floridita’s success as a landmark venue.
